I have a wonderful family that consists of my husband and two daughters. I also have two very special nephews who have spent countless hours at the Children’s hospital in Madera. I realize there is nothing I can do or say to improve these little guys health, but I know what Comforting Kids contributes to these hospitals makes these kids feel very special. It is organizations like ours that helps put a smile on my nephews faces as well as many, many other special little ones.

My husband Todd and I live in Patterson with our two daughters, Shealyn (11) and Kadeance (2). My husband farms on the west side and I have worked in a pediatric office for the past 11 years. Between working with children and raising my own, I realize what a great opportunity it is to be a part of this special foundation.

I am married with three children. All of our children have been in the hospital for one reason or another. When she was young, our middle child had to stay in the hospital for six days. It was stressful on the entire family. I am a part of Comforting Kids because I feel it is an organization that will benefit both the patient and their family. I feel that by giving to this organization you can give a child a little bit of normalcy while they are experiencing something that is very stressful and confusing. Children are our future, and we need to support them and help them in any way we can.

I have a wonderful husband and two amazing children. I was first introduced to the Child Life Program in 2005 when my youngest child was hospitalized at four months old. Having spent time in the hospital has introduced my family and I to many beautiful children. It has shown us the wonderful programs the hospitals have to offer and the special needs they have. I am extremely passionate in my mission to help comfort these children during their stay in the hospital. With the grace of God Comforting Kids Foundation can help bring a smile to many little faces.

This organization immediately appealed to me because the mission is so pure and simple--to make an infant or child’s stay in the hospital as comfortable as possible. One of my two sons was hospitalized as an infant, so I witnessed those little faces needing the simple comforts that Comforting Kids will provide.

Currently, I live in Newman with my husband and our 2-year old daughter and work full time as a 4th grade teacher. Because I am a teacher, loving and nurturing children goes with out saying, but being able to serve as a board member for Comforting Kids Foundation is an amazing honor. I look forward to working hard and helping to make decisions that will benefit children and local children’s hospitals. Belonging to and serving with the board members for this AWESOME foundation is giving me a purpose, and is allowing me to be a part of something more rewarding than I could imagine.

I have lived in Patterson since 2005 with my husband, Joel, who was raised there. My husband farms in the area and after spending several years in the title and escrow business, I now work part-time at a local retail store. Thinking back to my own childhood, where I spent the better part of a year in and out of the hospital with chronic abdominal problems, I recognize the importance of having a refuge for children away from the scary and stressful environment of the hospital. Working with Comforting Kids allows a wonderful opportunity to provide a moment of solace for families currently confronted with medical issues of their own.

I have been married almost twenty years and have three great children. Comforting Kids has been the purpose I have been looking for. After a cancer scare with my two youngest children, and a stay at Madera Children’s Hospital, I'm proud to have this opportunity to give back to a hospital that gave me so much...the lives of my children.

As a medical provider I am more than happy to be a part of an organization that provides the little things we may forget when caring for a child who may be sick or in discomfort. Our organization not only provides for the sick child, but also gives comfort to the family that supports him or her. Now, when I send a sick child to the hospital I will do so in confidence because I know that their stay there will be very special.

I have been married for twenty years to my husband Randy. We have four wonderful children ranging in age from 6 to 16 years of age. One of our children, Bailey, was four years old when she was diagnosed with leukemia. After fighting this horrible disease for over four years, she passed away when she was only eight years young in 2007. Almost a year later, Comforting Kids had their first fundraiser and ended up donating an amazing amount of goodies to Children’s Hospital Central California in memory of our precious Miss Bailey. I knew I wanted to be a part of this great organization after seeing their love and dedication toward making a difference in the lives of children. I approached the board members with the idea of giving something special to our local children who face long-term illnesses. They not only embraced the idea but also named it after our little girl. That was the beginning of Bailey’s Treasure Box, which is the perfect tribute to Bailey since she spent much of her life reaching out to other children in hopes of bringing a smile to their faces.

Currently, I am a computer science teacher for grades K through 8th. My major is Liberal Studies with a a minor in Child Development. I am a part of this organization to help give comfort, strength, hope and to ease the grief or trouble of those who need it most. I began this journey to help children who have been hospitalized. I am determined to make their stay along with their parents’ a little more comfortable.

As a member of the Comforting Kids Foundation I am able to express my unending love for children in a very caring and nurturing way. The opportunity to help families and children get through the difficult situation that a hospital stay can bring is extremely rewarding to me.
